Student-Renters’ Rights: IU’s Student Legal Services

Posted on September 11, 2011

Getting your first apartment is a big step in your journey to becoming a real adult, but it can also be a huge headache if you have issues with your landlord. If you’ve settled into your new apartment but there are problems, you need to seek advice before too much time passes. A problem many student-renters face is that they don’t know their rights or what to do when there is an issue. IU’s Student Legal Services is a free resource available to all IU students that gives advice and legal counsel, and can better explain your rights to you. Their office is located on the corner of 7th and Fess, across from Dunn Meadow.
