Unidentified Body Found in Indy Creek not Lauren Spierer

Posted on July 5, 2011

Officials have determined that the body, which belongs to a young black woman, is not that of Lauren Spierer or 74-year-old Dorothy Heard, who has been missing since June 13th from Noblesville.

The owner of the body is still yet to be identified.

An unidentified woman’s body was found in Fall Creek on the northeastern side of Indianapolis by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department over the holiday weekend.

The body was too decomposed for authorities to determine the age or race of the body, but the Huffington Post reports that the authorities have been in contact with the Bloomington Police Department.

The BPD has been searching for missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer since June 3rd.

The autopsy is currently underway to determine cause of death and the woman’s identity.

The Indianapolis Metro Police is not investigating the body as directly being related to the Spierer disappearance.

Updates on this story will continue as information is received.
