No Mitch in 2012, Another One Bites the Dust

Posted on May 23, 2011

Following the lead of Mike Hukabee, Haley Barbour, Donald Trump, and other prominent Republicans, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has decided not to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

In an email late Saturday night to supporters, Daniels said he will not run due to concern for his family. He was apologetic, writing, “The interests and wishes of my family, is the most important consideration of all. If I have disappointed you, I will always be sorry.”

Republican politicians and pundits were not happy with the news, debating it heavily on the Sunday morning news shows.

Also disappointed: Republican voters, who feel they have slim pickings in the upcoming presidential race. With very popular powerhouses opting not to run, they are left with Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, and Mitt Romney for now.
