Peyton Hillis, Face of Madden ’12

Posted on April 26, 2011

Cleveland Brown’s running back Peyton Hillis will be featured on the cover of this year’s edition of the EA Sports powerhouse video game— Madden ’12.
It may not be the most prestigious honor in professional sports, but there are some who take it very seriously.

Hillis, who originally seeded 10th in the bracket to select a winner, was up against Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick in the final round. Many were surprised by the outcome.

Hillis say he is excited because he didn’t think he would have a shot against Vick.

Had Vick been selected, he would have been the first player to be on the cover twice, the first being when he played for the Falcons in 2003.

Only time will tell who the real winner is. Some have said making the cover of Madden is a curse because many players suffer injuries or personal tragedies after receiving the honor.

After Vick’s first appearance on the cover, the dog scandal broke and he was incarcerated.
