Be Beautiful Bloomington Cleanup Friday

Posted on April 26, 2011

After spending months walking to classes in the frostbitten air and slipping all over the icy sidewalks, there’s nothing that can put you in a better mood than the flowers and scenery that make spring in Bloomington so beautiful.

Now, our beloved city is asking for your help to keep the scenery spotless.

Mayor Mark Kruzan announced plans this week for a “Be Beautiful Bloomington” day on Friday.

The mayor is inviting everyone to help keep Bloomington clean and beautiful by joining the city and local businesses in participating in the sixth annual Be Beautiful Bloomington Downtown Cleanup.

Cleanup volunteers will pick up trash and plant flowers throughout the downtown area with necessary equipment provided by the city.

Registration begins this Friday, April 29th at 8:30 AM in the City Hall Atrium, and the volunteering shift will run from 9-11:30 AM.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided and all volunteers will receive a free t-shirt in exchange for their work.

Get out there and give back to the community and nature by volunteering Friday!
