WHAT’S UP WEEKLY

Infamous Former Head Coach Bob Knight apologized for comments he made last week about University of Kentucky basketball players.

The controversy started when he was speaking at a dinner in Indiana about “one and done” players in NCAA Basketball and singled out members of UK’s team, saying they had “five players who started in the NCAA tournament who didn’t go to class in the spring semester of last season.”

“My overall point it that ‘one and dones’ are not healthy for college basketball. I should not have made it personal to Kentucky and its players and I apologize,” Knight said.

“Bob Knight’s comments do not reflect the opinion of and are not endorsed by ESPN. We have communicated to him our disappointment and welcome his apology,” ESPN said in a statement.
