WHAT’S UP WEEKLY

The six-time Grammy Award winning Black Eyed Peas announced Tuesday that their Peapod Foundation, together with the Adobe Foundation, will open a non-profit academy in Manhattan, according to NBC.

The Peapod Adobe Youth Voices music and multimedia academy is for teenagers interested in video and music production. Classes will teach the students on professional grade equipment.

“Our passion for music and media was fueled by many generous people on our road to success. Expanding the network of Peapod Adobe Youth Voices academies enables us to pay it forward, giving more youth the skills and encouragement they need to realize their dreams,” Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.I.am said.

The academy accepts students interested in camera operation, editing, and graphic design based on teacher recommendations.

The doors will open for classes in July.
